In the Physics teaching. the meaning of physics experiments in teaching is weakened to a certain extent. These deficiencies of experiments in physics teaching need to be supplemented by physics extracurricular experiments. Extracurricular Physics experiments, as a part of physics experiments, cannot be ignored in arousing students’ interest in learning and improving students’learning capability training. In other countries, physics teaching pays great attention to combining both curricular experiments and extracurricular in physics, such as high school teachers’ guidance, social approval and support from families. The most valuable thing which needs us to learn is that colleges and universities should provide the resources of physics extracurricular experiments. In our country, extracurricular physics experiment is always lack of specialized teachers and laboratory equipments. Some information in current textbooks and monographs is far from interesting and modern. Moreover the tie among high schools, colleges and scientific research institutions is too loose. Hence we need to establish a platform that opens with enough resources which contain interesting and modern information for high school teachers and students. Therefore, this study contains three parts below.1.We have studted the extracurricular physics experiments in high school physics textbooks of two versions, and investigated the implementation of extracurricular experiments.2. According to the psychological characteristics of high school students, we have collected and designed some suitable extracurricular physics experiments for them3.Based on current high school students’ psychological characteristics and behaviors of learning and the distribution of time, we need to establish a platform that opens and provides with the strong support for the extracurricular experiments implementation.According to the basic study of the two versions of physics textbooks that published by Peoples Education Publishing House (PEPH) and Shanghai Science and Technology Press (SSTP). we hand out questionnaires to Xi’an and Shanghai high school students and conducted interviews to Xi’an and Shanghai high school teachers to collect the first-hand information for this study The information of this study comes from two samples, high school students and teachers of three different levels in Xi’an and two different levels in Shanghai After comparing and analyzing the information of those two samples, we have found some differences between them.Research conclusions:1.The extracurricular physics experiments in SSTP textbooks arc more interesting and modern, while the extracurricular experiments in PEPH textbook is more theoretical and compulsory. The extracurricular experiments in elective course Ⅰ and elective course11of PEPH textbooks are more interesting and modern, but most of them are rarely used in teaching. The experiments in elective course Ⅲ, most of which need sensor equipments, are widely used in teaching. Even though those experiments satisfy the requirements in expanding students’vision and the demands of more quantitative research, they are unfamiliar to Xi’an high school students. Many basic experiments in SSTP textbooks completed with DIS experiments are more closely connected to our life, they are less difficult for Shanghai high school students who are familiar with sensors equipments.2.The spirits of skepticism of Xi’an and Shanghai high school students are of no obvious difference. Both Xi’an and Shanghai high schools students show a consistent trend of decline in interest of physics experiments, and the rate of extracurricular experiment implementation in Xi’an high school students is half of Shanghai. The decline of the rate of extracurricular experiment implementation is not only caused by learning pressure, but also by a lack of interest and modernity in the extracurricular experiment of current physics textbooks.3.Both Xi’an and Shanghai high school students always spend their limited free time in the social network. Students are more likely to study by themselves as well as by other students’cooperation and teachers’ help. It means that most students need to get more knowledge and improve their abilities. The two cities’ high school students don’t like studying with teacher’s help. There are two reasons, one is students’ inner demand for freedom hut with teachers’ help will give them feeling of discomfort:the other is students try to prove themselves and want to explore by themselves.4. This study has developed some experiments depending on the objectives of curriculum standard for physical training and the development and selection principles of physical extracurricular experiment resources. We have established a platform that provides extracurricular experiments such as the mechanical movement, thermology, electricity, mechanical wave and so on in Sina blog.In order to improve the situation of extracurricular experiment in physics teaching of senior high school, based on this study’s conclusions, we have some suggestions:1.The physics teaching materials of extracurricular experiments in high school should take the current students’ life into consideration and make the materials much fun. Thus, it can stimulate students’ interest of doing physical experiments.2. Add more activities to enrich high school students’ learning and also arouse the high school students’ interest in learning physics, such as adding more opportunities for high school students’ to visit factories, building the contract between high schools, universities and institutes, and holding a variety of science and technology activities or competitions.3. The platform of extracurricular experiments in Sina needs updates and maintenance in time. So we expect for a powerful team to support and expand this platform. In the future, we will supply a platform that provides abundant extracurricular experiment resources for students and teachers in high school.
