With the issuance of new curriculum standards, all parts of the country have begun a comprehensive revision of art textbook, but the editor didn’t understand the standard, many problems appear in textbooks, which caused the concern of the author. In this paper, through the relationship between junior high school art textbooks and the painting teaching content, the history between the art textbooks and painting, analysis of experimental textbooks painting art of teaching content, focuses on a comparative study of "the writing idea and structure characteristics of PEP Edition" and" Children’s Edition " of art textbooks painting teaching content. This paper is divided into five chapters, the first chapter is the introduction, the second chapter is the theoretical research, the main content is the basic theory of junior high school art textbooks and teaching of painting, including the concept of the textbook, Art Textbook concept, function, writing evaluation principles, textbooks and the requirements of the new curriculum concept, painting, painting education and research at home and abroad results. The third chapter is the historical research, mainly from the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China from five four to early stage of the Anti Japanese War to the new Chinese period to twenty-first Century new curriculum stage art textbook, a detailed analysis of the1979general art textbooks, the1992art education program, Hong Kong and Taiwan Art Textbooks painting teaching content. The fourth chapter is the comparative study to the PEP and Children’s Edition as an example, a comprehensive analysis of the general situation, structure, theme, the version content, pictures, auxiliary column, task requirements, evaluation on the table, design ideas, the same subject matter of the case, and summarizes the advantages and disadvantages and improvements. The fifth chapter is the theoretical basis of the three plate and the comparative study, summed up Art Textbook Evaluation criteria are the following four points:①Art textbook should be preparation and evaluation principles to conform to the "art curriculum standards" textbook, art textbook should be the main form of art contains a variety of art and categories, as well as the traditional and the modern concept of creation and form.②Art textbook should be the stage characteristics of teaching according to the requirements of art discipline rule, the new curriculum and students’ development, put forward a clear guideline, the reasonable and orderly, and open and ecological knowledge system and frame structure.③According to Dewey’s "empiricism" in curriculum theory, experience and theory of Art Textbook arrangement should be reasonable proportion, i.e."art techniques, excellent fan painting appreciation" and "the rational knowledge should be close to students’interest and life of the creative art activities" coexisted in the textbook.④According to the artistic creation and teaching rule, art textbook should use traditional, modern art language, around a significant theme, like artists like painting, namely the idea of compiling "listen, learn skills, recreation".
