Feasibility Study On The Extension Of Bamboo Slip Movement In Nanjing Primary And Middle Schools

Playing diabolo is a bright pearl of the traditional sports in China. The application of diabolo course in primary and secondary schools can facilitate to the students’ development in an all round way, promote their teaching reform and development, boost and inherit the traditional sports. And playing diabolo has a long history in Nanjing, a southern province of china,and has known to the citizens. It is not only often performed in various public performances in Nanjing, but also began to appear in the physical education classroom teaching in the primary and secondary schools, and has got good teaching results. Therefore, it’s feasible to implement diabolo course in Nanjing’s secondary schools.As the primary period of school sports, the physical education in primary and secondary schools is an important basic point of school and social sports, is the primary part of implementing life-time sports, and has significant positive impact and long-term effects on promoting the formation of student’s life-time sports habits. Furthermore, it is an important platform to inherit and spread the excellent sports culture and also it is an significant carrier to spread and inherit the traditional sports.The present thesis makes a summary analysis on the feasibility of promoting diabolo in Nanjing’s middle schools by using various methods, such as literature, field investigation, questionnaires and mathematical statistics, finds out the factors influence the diabolo development, with the aim to provide theoretical and referential evidences for diabolo implementation in middle and primary schools of Nanjing.The research result demonstrates the following four findings:No.1Teachers show positive attitudes towards diabolo.No.2The viable internal elements facilitates to promote diabolo mainly include students’interest in diabolo and beliefs--playing diabolo has positive influence on their physical health. Other external elements are the needs to inherit and protect china’s traditional sports, the course reform on physical education of middle and primary schools and playing diabolo has its own characteristics, like fewer field limitation, low cost, high entertaining and appreciative value.No.3The mainly factors that influence the diabolo implementation are the lack of faculties, school leaders’ little attention on it, and the bias against it by some teachers and students.No.4Promoting diabolo has great feasibility in Nanjing’s middle and primary schools.
