Nanjing Academy inherited and developed the excellent tradition of ancient academy in the education and teaching practice. It formed its own distinct characteristics in the field of the Chinese language teaching. These characteristics include adhering to the combination of teaching and academic research, the harmonious relationship between teachers and students, emphasizing the practical value, advancing with the times, attaching importance to the students’ independent study, laying emphasis on personalized and heuristic teaching, adopting the lore of Han and Song Dynasties, especially Han Dynasties.Nanjing High School is the predecessor of the Nanjing Academy. It has a history of transiting from the traditional academy to a modern school, then a modern high school. The Chinese language teaching of Nanjing High School absorbs the essence of the education practice of Nanjing Academy. It emphasizes the practical value, pays attention the basic teaching, attaches importance to the students’ independent study and lays emphasis on personalized and heuristic teaching. During the Chinese language teaching practice, Nanjing High School has gradually formed its own Chinese language teaching style, that is creating the ideal "real","live","perfect" and "fun" Chinese language classroom teaching.From the long-term study, I have gradually known the enlightenments on the Chinese language teaching in Nanjing High School from the teaching practice of Nanjing Academy. The Chinese language teaching should adhere to the educational concept of training talents for the country and the people, improve the students’ humanistic quality entirely. It should form a new student-centered Chinese language classroom teaching to cultivate students’ innovative spirit and practice ability, based on the students’development. We can guide the students to use self-study notes and diary-style composition books in order to cultivate the habit of students’ autonomous learning and improve students’ ability of autonomous learning Chinese. The traditional Chinese language teaching class can be turned into a new two-class one. Through this reformation, we can carefully select teaching contents, design students’ activities and exercises, and combine the reading teaching and composition teaching. Then we can make greater progress in the teaching of reading masterpieces, and further improve the efficiency of the Chinese language classroom teaching. According to the students’differences of personality traits, learning interests and learning abilities, we can adopt the forms of walk-through module teaching and course-selecting teaching, and so on.Here are the typical Chinese language classroom teaching cases of Nanjing High School:the teaching plan of "swallow", the classroom teaching record of "Three Gorges", the teaching design of "A Dream of Red Mansions (selected readings)" and the classroom teaching record of the reading guide of "20,000Leagues Under the Sea".
