The new character education is an important form of moral education in the UnitedStates, had once played a vital role in the moral education in American history.Although the social system, values and other aspects of the different, in the content andmethod of student moral education also have their own characteristics, but the UnitedStates of America new character education emphasizes on the interaction of school andfamily, the community, to promote good character formation of adolescent obtainedduring the experiment reform of moral education in Colleges and universities hasimportant significance, and its shortcomings also need our attention, to avoid recommitthe same error.This article contains five parts. The first chapter introduces the general situation ofAmerican new character education, including the American new character educationbackground and main content. The second chapter is the evaluation of the Americannew character education generally discusses the positive value and limitations of thenew character education in the United States; in the third chapter, on the basis of thesecond chapter discusses the reference value of American new character education toChina’s moral education in Colleges and universities and to strengthen the concretestrategies of China’s moral education in Colleges and universities.
