Since the implementation of the strict family planning policy in1980s, therehave been existed a mass of one-child families. With the increasing of risks in modernsociety, some of one-child families turn into the only-child-died-families. Suchfamilies are special and vulnerable groups who face difficulties and have needs whichare different from common families. It is necessary to set up well-established systemto solve their problems and satisfy their needs. This thesis will analyze the difficultiesand needs of only-child-died-families, the current situation of help to such familiesfrom different parts of society. On the basis of the analysis and combining the specificconditions of only-child-died-families, the thesis aims at establishing one completelysystematic social service system which integrates the power of government,community, social organization and individuals.In this thesis, the author takes the only-child-died-families as research objects,and uses the methods of interview and documentary. Basing on difficulties and needsfaced by these families, the thesis explores and analyses the main subjects of socialservice system for the only-child-died-families, the advantages and disadvantages ofthe main supply subjects of social service system, the operation mechanism of socialservice system for the only-child-died-families in different stages. Finally, the authorwill try to put forward countermeasures and suggestions from the perspective ofgovernment, community, social organization and individuals to build a perfect socialservice system for the only-child-died-families.This thesis draws the following conclusions: the present and future needs of theonly-child-died-families include spiritual concern, financial compensation, marriagemaintaining, daily care and company, aging and medical service. The main difficultiesare financial pressure, spiritual and mental burden, marriage crisis, difficult to adaptsociety, worrying about being aging and medical treatment, disposition of property. Inorder to satisfy the needs and solve problems of the only-child-died-families, everypart of social service system should give full play. Specifically, government may provide powerful resource and enough fund support, community has convenientcircumstance and court, social organization could offer professional service,individual service has more flexibility.
