Research On The Status Quo Of China 's International Taekwondo Referee Team And Its Development Countermeasures

Taekwondo has been developing nearly twenty years in China since the formal introduction of the movement. During the process of the development, the professional upgrading of the referees, especially the advancement of the Taekwondo referees, has played a positive role in promoting to popularize and standardize the development of Taekwondo in China.This paper applied methods such as the questionnaire survey, data analysis, and comparative analysis. Also focused on the composition of Taekwondo referee team in China, especially on the building-up situation of the referee group who have achieved international level qualification, the paper which is on related theory and practical investigation, and with the combination of the theoretical researches on Taekwondo field, and Taekwondo referee rules, as well as with the development of international taekwondo referee group in China currently, the paper makes sum up the existing problems in the current building-up process of the international taekwondo referee group. For example, the theoretical basis of Taekwondo is weak, and the group has less real combat chance; there is uneven geographical distribution:municipalities, and the eastern coastal economically developed provinces have more referees than those in the western provinces; especially, there are large proportion in North China and East China; the age structure is not coordinated; the proportion of men and women referees is out of balance; international referees management is not standardized, and substance temptation is the biggest problem faced by the referee team; training mode has many problems; there is few specific and regular training system in addition to upgrade to a world-class training and examination; foreign language ability is poor, and it is difficult to be qualified the competition judging task, which has restricted the development of China’s referees; and there are many other influences. Through researches, the paper aims to find out some practical strategies and approaches which can deal with the current problems, and wishes to strengthen the management of the referee group and manage them by systems and regulations as well as their cultivations. Then, focus on the system building-up of referee training, improve the training mechanism; balance the distribution in different fields; supervise the judging process; improve foreign language and researching abilities.
