Research On Citizen Consciousness Education Of Contemporary College Students

Civic awareness is one of the forms of social consciousness, as the rationalquality of a country’s citizens, constitute the spirit of the modern state heritage, bothideological motivation for the development of socialist democratic politics, is thebasis of the work of building a harmonious society. It contains a rich and profoundideological content, the citizens’ sense of ownership, integrated social mission andcollectivism responsibility to form a kind of self-consciousness. College students arethe new force of the socialist cause, builders and successors of the future of themotherland, the status of its main civic awareness, will directly affect thedevelopment of society as a whole.Civic awareness education started late2001after the promulgation of the "CPCCentral Committee on Civic Morality Platform gradually developed. But its importantposition is gradually pay attention to it, especially in the48the report of the party’sdiscourse on "push forward the building of socialist culture and power to strengthenthe construction of socialist core value system and comprehensively improve thequality of civic virtue requirements adding new content to the education aboutcitizenship, also highlighted the importance of civic awareness education.This article through historical analysis and literature analysis, starting from thecitizens, the origins of the civic education concepts, find the problems of collegestudents and working-education, of the reasons for the problems of the civic educationof college students, is proposed to strengthen the civic education of college studentsthe specific path.
