Classical style of writing is the essence of Chinese ancient culture, and classicalChinese teaching plays an important role in language teaching. As an important carrierof Chinese traditional culture, classical style of writing has a great effect on literacycultivation for students. However, classical style of writing has always been a problempuzzled by teachers and students. The teachers attach importance to it, while thestudents are weary of studying. Aiming at a series of problems existing in the classicalstyle of writing, the author made systematic analysis and summary through referringrelevant data and combining her own internship experience. The first part of this papersummarizes the classical style of writing and the classical Chinese teaching. It alsoclarifies the definition of classical style of writing and the important position of classicalChinese teaching from a theoretical point of view. Combining the actual situation ofclassical Chinese teaching in high school, the second part puts forward some problemsexisting in the classical Chinese teaching. Unequal attitudes between teachers andstudents: teachers attach great importance to the classical Chinese teaching, whilestudents show no enthusiasm. From the aspect of teaching: single teaching ideas;valuing “character”, neglecting “writing” in teaching; paying much attention onmechanical memory, ignoring the understanding of text. From the aspect of learning: thelack of awareness of autonomous learning; learning knowledge points by rote andlacking flexibility; attaching importance to copying, ignoring summaries. Aiming at aseries of problems existing in the classical Chinese teaching of high school, combiningthe author’s own internship experience, the last part of the paper elaborates somesolutions to the teaching and learning in high school classical style of writing. From theaspect of teacher: enriching their knowledge reserves; stimulating students’ interests inlearning; cultivating students to meaningful learning; multimedia assisted classicalChinese teaching; various methods to test students’ knowledge. From the aspect ofstudents: bringing their subjective initiative into full play; mastering scientific andreasonable learning methods; enhancing their reserves of classical Chinese. The paper isdesigned to put forward some humble opinions about the teaching and learning ofclassical style of writing. We hope you find the paper useful for the high school classicalChinese teaching.
