The classical Chinese teaching is very important in the Chinese teaching in high school, and also very important to the heritage of our traditional culture. Although much attention have been paid to the classical Chinese teaching and there are also many reforms in classical Chinese teaching, the current situation is dissatisfactory, especially in some rural areas in Hainan. On one hand, in the classes of classical Chinese teachers teach every word clearly and deeply. On the other hand, the results of our teaching in classes are very unsatisfied for us, and the interesting and competency of reading classical Chinese of students are couldn’t be developed obviously. This article focused on the current situations of classical Chinese teaching of Baisha high school and some undeveloped areas of Hainan, analyze the problems of the situations and try to get some solutions for these problems. Based on the practice experiences of classical Chinese teaching and some thoughts of me, this article mainly include the following sections:Fist, survey of the current situations of classical Chinese teaching in high schoolI have chosen two classes from each grade of Baisha high school, and then made a sample survey and some interview in each class. After that, I analyzed the problems of both study of students and teaching of teachers, and clarified some consequences of these problems.Second, find the causes of those problemsBased on the problems of classical Chinese teaching in Baisha high school, I found some main causes of those problems.Third, get some solutions to solve those problemsHave been found the causes of those problems, I given some solutions to solve those problems. In this article, I think that we must attach importance to the accumulation of classical Chinese of students, and we can make the students to guide the learning of classical Chinese only if the students have a good basis on reading classical Chinese, otherwise, we can’t.
