Using the sample of Anyang, Henan, this paper studies the current condition of students'reading ability of ancient Chinese literature. Through these questionnaires, problems are found out and studied thoroughly. Based on this study some suggestions are given for the improvement of the education of the ancient Chinese literature.This paper consists of two parts:First, the problems of the ancient Chinese literature education are raised from the questionnaires, and possible ways of solving the problems are proposed.Second, the requirements of education are analyzed through kindergarten teachers'courses, Chinese courses, and ancient Chinese courses. Four aspects for the improvements are proposed, which are the clarifying the purpose of teaching, the joining of different courses, the changing of teaching materials, the improving of teaching method.
