Research On Curriculum Management Of Independent Colleges

Independent college has become an important form of higher education in China,with the expansion of private education scale and the deep reform of curriculum system.It is a special form of higher education emerging with popularization of highereducation. It should be applied for by national public universities and funded by socialorganizations or individuals outside of national organizations. Meanwhile it is aneffective complement for higher education in China.The talent training quality decides its fate because independent college is differentfrom the normal national public university in its nature, its running system, runningscale, its objective, its talent training target as well as its teachers and students. Andcurriculum management level is a vital factor which would affect its talent trainingquality directly. Furthermore, advanced curriculum management theory is the key tomake independent college outstanding in the new era. Therefore the study of curriculummanagement in independent college is very important.Independent college is the main part to undertake the management of curriculum.According to the curriculum policies of our nation and local governments it shouldcarry out its management power scientifically and fully to further organize activitiesrelated to curriculum construction, curriculum planning, curriculum implement,curriculum evaluation, etc.This study took Dalian Medical University as an example and tried to explore theexistence problems in independent college’s curriculum management. Empiricalapproach was applied to analyze the existing problems. Using development experienceof higher education in China today for reference, combining detailed situation of independent college, the author proposed several management strategies on curriculumfor independent college.
