Group Of Care For Children With Leukemia

Caregivers of children with leukemia is a special kind of vulnerable groups, leukemia is a malignant disease of the hematopoietic system, is one of the highest incidence in the pediatric malignancies, is also one of the main cause of death in children. Leukemia is so dangerous, the treatment is expensive, and needs long duration of treatment, as well as social of leukemia cognitive biases and other factors, caregivers of children with leukemia are under enormous psychological pressure and suppressed negative emotions, Once the child is suffering from leukemia, parents often experience anxiety, depression, denial, anger and low self-esteem status. In recent years, more and more scholars began to study caregivers, and more and more scholars began to study the caregivers of children with leukemia’s psychological conditions and quality of life. But from the perspective of social work for children with leukemia carers group work practice is rare, which formed this research space.This paper attempts to apply the social work group working methods, by introducting of the holistic health of body, mind and spirit mode, through group social work to help parents of children with leukemia cope with the impact brought by the disease, though supply the imformation of care, nutrition for parents to meet their information needs; through sharing among team members, explore and manage their emotion, though breathing meditation exercises let team members learn how to relax the pressure of dealing with emotions and get positive energy; we not only supported in providing information for parents of children, but also establish a platform for the formation of self-help groups, and extended support system.This article made a detailed record of the implementation process of the project, and the results were summarized. Compared four kinds of caregivers of children with leukemia after intervention strategies, this paper concluded that social work intervention in children with leukemia caregiver health intervention strategies is practicable; the other proposed community support network of future building the specific measures.
