The goal of penetrating national identity into geography education in Yunnan border school is based on the feasibility analysis and the command of the status quo of students’national identity in the region and national identity consciousness of students cultivated by schools. Accordingly, it proposes the strategy that improve Yunnan border school geography education in cultivating students’consciousness of national identity so as to enhance the students’ feeling that they should love home and their motherland and greatly promote border security and national unity.At present, school education is an effective way to enhance students’sense of national identity in Yunnan border region where junior middle school students’sense of national identity and ethnic identity consciousness is overall higher. According to the results of questionnaire analysis, it shows that national identity and ethnic identity of junior middle school students in the region has no obvious difference in the aspect of grade, gender, ethnic identities. Parents’ level of education has a significant impact on students’sense of national identity, that means the higher the level of education, the higher the children’s sense of national identity, especially mother’s level of education has a great influence on the children’s sense of national identity.While training students’sense of national identity, Yunnan border schools have changed some traditional education teaching ideas. Teachers get to know student is the main part of the cognitive activity. When choosing curriculum content and organizing teaching activities, teachers should not only follow the rules of education, also the general law of cognitive development of students. But in the cultivation of student’s sense of national identity, there exist many problems, such as unreasonable curriculum structure, geography textbook materials with relevant national identity education are not enough and in the geography education, the method of national identity infiltration is single and the evaluation is not strong enough.From the perspective of the nature, concept and target of the geography education, it is feasible to penetrate national identity into the geographical education. In addition, the geography curriculum content which also contains a great many of the implementation of national identity education.To enhance Yunnan border areas student’s sense of national identity in geography education, it should do from the four aspects including the construction of curriculum goals, curriculum resources development, teaching method and learning evaluation. The construction of curriculum goals including cognition goals, emotion manner values and behavioral goals. In regard to the development of geography curriculum resources, there are two kinds methods including "secondary development" of each version textbooks and the development and utilization of local geography curriculum resources. On the choice of teaching methods, in addition to the traditional teaching method and discussion method, it should positively select more effective teaching and learning methods about emotional experience to national identity. In geographical learning evaluation for students, besides how much knowledge students are supposed to master, evaluation should also pay attention to the values of emotional attitude and behavior evaluation. When choosing evaluation methods, it is better comprehensively consider the advantages and disadvantages of various evaluation methods to achieve an objective and fair evaluation on students’ sense of national identity.
