The family education of children plays an important role in the development of human life. And the children in the families formed by the only child grow up in a relatively special family environment, so their family education requires more attention. Based on the previous studies on family education, this study takes the 300 families formed by the only child in the main city zone of Chongqing as the objective of study, and through using the study method of a combination of questionnaires and interviews, it analyzes the status of the family education of the children in the families formed by the only child in the main city of Chongqing, as well as proposing countermeasures and suggestions on how to promote the development of the family education of the children in the families formed by the only child in the main city zone of Chongqing.The study found that:1. The mode of cross-generation education is commonly found in families formed by the only child. Fathers in the families formed by the only child are always too busy to look after their children because of work, so they ask the grandparents to bring up the children completely, while most of the grandparents have the behavior of spoiling the grandchildren during the education activities. They would do everything on behalf of the children, and all requests of the children will be granted. They would forgive the shortcomings and understand the faults of the children. Such a kind of education mode will inevitably hinder the formation of the sense of independence and the development of independent behaviors of the children.2. The investment of education is extortionate. Most of the families formed by the only child in the main city zone spend 60% of the monthly income in the development of interest of the children, reading, as well as food, clothing, and the basic necessities of life, immoderate purchases of toys for the children, blindly buying children books, such a consumer behavior makes the children immersed in an excellent physical environment for a long term, which resulted in the formation of the habit of children do not know to be hardworking and thrifty from childhood.3. The education view of the parents is separated from the education behavior. Both parents in the families formed by the only child in the city have a high level of education, and they have some modern educational thoughts and ideas, however, in the actual education behaviors, they expect too much of their children becoming a useful person, with a education way of self-centered, which restricts the behaviors of children, ignoring the characteristics of the growth and development of the children themselves.4.The family relation is disharmony. The family conflicts in the families formed by the only child in this city are more prominent, which mainly reflect in the parent-child conflicts, the difference of education ideas between parents and grandparents, and the education conflicts between mothers and fathers and so on, so that the children often live in an environment of a contention of mouth and tongue, and the children are at a loss as to what to do as a result, affecting their normal physical and mental development.5. The absence of parents in the education activities. Kindergarten is the first school in the growth of the children, but the society pays more attention to school education, therefore, the parents are also take more consideration of school education, while ignoring the fact that they are the real education foundation, and the key to deciding the fate of the children.In view of the above situation, this study believes that the education of the children in the families formed by the only child in the main city zone of Chongqing should be improved with the starting point of changing the "independent generation" parents, distinguishing the education responsibilities of grandparents and fathers, so as to ensure the uniformity of education; on the choice of education methods, educate the children according to their natural ability, do not break the rule of the growth development of the children; provide the children with a warn and harmonious learning environment, the parents are able to improve themselves while deepening the parent-child relations triggered by cross-generation if they learn together with the children; parents should also make themselves as an example, and instruct and influence the children by their words and deeds, so as to foster good habits of the children; choose the learning content for the children with a scientific and rational attitude, and make it meet the mental development of the children. As the one-child parents should also abandon the bad personality habit of "independent generation", do not force the children, educate the children according to their natural ability, becoming a good teacher and helpful friend of the children during their growth.
