The education of the post-graduates is the vital link in higher education, which stands out in social politics, economy and culture. The post-graduates education is a huge systematic project. It consists of different sections:enrollment, cultivation, degree awarding and employment. A decent quality guarantee system counts in post-graduates education. The evaluation on the quality of post-graduates education matters not in purpose, but plays as a means. Through thorough evaluation on the quality of post-graduates education, certain problems and shortcomings can be summed up, thus further approaches would be carried out in order to improve the education quality.To start with, the author put forward the theoretic basis of the evaluation on the quality of post-graduates education. It should follow the laws of the education science, and should obey the nature of the system science. Then, based on the thorough study of the related literature home and abroad, by interviewing 25 post-graduates and 37 mentors, and by doing surveys, the author got research results from 47 domestic colleges and universities of different type. Studying the research results, certain problems of the evaluation on the quality of post-graduates education can be viewed from the following four main aspects:evaluation objects, evaluation process, evaluation index system and evaluation results. The problems are: firstly, it lacks comprehensive guidelines; secondly, the evaluation objects are not desirable; thirdly, the evaluation index system needs improvement; fourthly, the treatment of the evaluation results is not perfect.As for the problems in evaluation on the quality of post-graduates education, the author made comparison with developed countries in order to catch valuable experience and advanced approaches. By comparing different aspects, which are evaluation objects, evaluation process, evaluation index system and evaluation results, the characteristics of the developed countries were made clear and could be used in Chinese evaluation on the quality of post-graduates education. Finally, the author put forward the ways to improve the evaluation on the quality of post-graduates education. First of all, detailed principles should be made; second, maintain regular evaluation cycle; third, expand evaluation influence and enhance college competition consciousness; fourth, establish longitudinal comparison of the evaluation, and guarantee the steady soar of the post-graduates education quality.
