China is undergoing an era with complicated population issues, many of which need urgent solutions. The childbearing policy is fluctuating. It has become the focus of academic circles whether the childbearing policy should be adjusted. Concerning the current status of population, national population census can provide a large amount of reference data. What’s more, it is necessary to find out the present major fertility desire, in order to grasp the development trend of future population. To understand and grasp the fertility intention of the fertility subject, to adjust China’s population policy and to solve the complicated problem of population in our country is important for our future population development.This thesis consists of three chapters. The first chapter mainly introduces the implementation of family planning policy, the ethnic policy, the population of ethnic minority areas in minority areas. The second chapter presents the existing problems in the process of implementing family planning policy in minority areas. And the author also introduces the traditional procreation conception of China based on the theory of the fertility intentions and modern childbearing, and analyzes the reasons that influence fertility intentions. The third chapter analyzes the research data, and summarizes that birth body is in the transition from traditional childbearing willing to modern fertility intentions, and thus represents duality feature. The author also puts forward some constructive advices for our country’s family planning policy on the basis of her own research outcomes.In the conclusion part of the thesis, the author points out the selective guidance of China’s family planning policy, and suggests some reasonable methods to promote harmonious development of human being, economy and environment, and to prevent future population crisis.
