Reading literacy is one of the basic elements of survival and development for theindividual in society, and its formation period is in childhood. Mastering the ability toread during this period of time, children can learn other knowledge better, can moreconfidently integrate into the community, and can meet the need of living, workingand survival; only learned how to read, can one improve the ability to appreciate andaccept the full-ranged information and satisfy the need of the spiritual worlddevelopment for individuals.In this essay, taking the improvement of reading literacy as a starting point, thelanguage textbook exercises designation as a breakthrough point, studies designed toteach reading to pointing problems of reading designed by Shanghai textbooksexercises by using basic reading evaluation framework of PIRLS2016. After themultilevel evaluation and analysis of the passages and exercises designation, thisessay draws conclusions and results in order to inspire other researchers thinking.The main contents of each chapter are as follows:The first chapter introduces the purpose and significance of the conceptsinvolved in the definition;The second chapter is the relevant literature review, including three aspectsbelow: related research on the PIRLS; related research on the designation of textbookexercises and related research on under PIRLS framework of primary school languageteaching exercises under PIRLS framework.The third chapter is the study design, introduces the research object, researchmethods, research tools. Especially on the set of research tools, it designed exercisesfrequency tables described exercises coding and interpreted the correspondenceamong the text, the title and the framework.The fourth chapter is the research process and the analysis, specifically analyzespurpose in reading and comprehension process involved. Meantime it also paysattention to the unique sensitivity exercises topic in Chinese textbook.The fifth chapter is the conclusions and implications for research, according tothe analysis, the author concludes the existing problems in the designation of Chinesetextbook exercises, points out reference significance of the PIRLS, and put forwardsuggestions and inspiring questions to solve these problems.The value of this research is, comparing with framework and point ofinternational reading literacy assessment, to master the specific reading point of current designation Chinese textbook exercises, and judge the consistency ofexercises designation, to make a thorough inquiry of the possibility to reflect the truereading literacy by reading exercises for students, and to seek for a more reasonableand optimized solution for the designation of reading exercises.
