In recent years, the rapid development of information technology changed people’s life and learning. In school education, information technology entered the campus widely. The integration of information technology and subject teaching is becoming more and more common in the class. Information technology has been affecting our education and teaching work in one way or another. The “flipped classroom”, “Micro Course”, and “teaching design under the informational condition” are the new education form and teaching method related to information technology. These new teaching methods are inseparable from teachers’ information technology abilities. Teachers, as the initiators of knowledge, their information technology levels will directly affect the students’ studying methods and ways, as well as the development of information education.At present, with the development of education information, compulsory education schools in Yanzhou have been equipped with perfect hardware facilities and complete network constructions, and realized the class “bantone” teaching network, which has created good information environment. Each of the compulsory education teachers has an office computer. Most of the teachers have grasped the basic information knowledge and skills.Overall, the teachers’ attitude to using the information technology and modern teaching skills has changed a lot. However, there are still some problems. Can compulsory education teachers adapt to the rapid development of information technology?Have teachers made full use of the school information technology equipments? What about the application status of the information technology in teaching? Are there any differences between urban and rural compulsory education teachers’ abilities of applying information technology? How to solve these issues?Based on the above problems, the author investigated and interviewed some schools in Yanzhou by questionnaires. The results showed: compulsory education teachers have weak information awareness and uneven abilities of information technology; there are differences between urban and rural compulsory education teachers’ abilities of applying information technology. The author analyzed the factors that caused these issues, and put forward some relevant countermeasures, which have provided the references for the information technology training in Yanzhou.
