With the development of the use of information method in the education field and the expansion of educational websites since the middle of the 20th century, promoting the information literacy of education has become a vital goal of the government reformation. It also requires the teachers in middle schools have better information literacy, which plays an important role in the teachers’ teaching quality and is a qualification for them to improve their teaching skills and research. Meantime, it is the requirement of the foundation of the education information literacy in primary and middle school. Information technology has a strong advantage in training students when they are asked to collect, choose and use information. With the development of modern information technology, the field of information technology is expanding and the speed of information’s update is faster and faster. Information technology has effects on human’s life on more and more aspects. Therefore, it’s necessary to find out the average level of primary and high school teachers’ information literacy, the causes which hold back their progress and the ways to solve the problem.This paper has six parts. In the first part, the purpose of writing the paper, the research situation and methods of primary and high school teachers’ information literacy at home and abroad are introduced. The second part introduces the definition of information literacy and teachers’information literacy, which is divided into basic information literacy and professional information literacy. The third part states the research method of the paper. The forth part contains the situation of primary and high school teachers’ information literacy in Xuancheng, Anhui province. In the fifth part, according to the analyzing results and reference to some documents in foreign countries, some strategies on how to improve primary and high school teachers’ information literacy in Xuancheng are come up with from three aspects including policies, schools and teachers. The last part sums up the result of the research and clarify the further research goals. This research analyses documents and data and uses questionnaires to sort out the situation of primary and high school teachers’information literacy in Xuancheng, find the causes which affect the situation and theory basis and feasible measures solving the problems,improve information teaching quality and speed up the development of local educational information literacy. |
