After thirty years’ reform and opening up, the curriculum reform of basic education in our country has made great achievements. But with the change in China’s socialist market economy and social development to promote sustained demand for talent, our original content of the basic education curriculum, course structure and teaching methods and so is relatively backward and outdated. After 2000, China has been opening a new round of basic education curriculum reform. In 2004, the Ministry of Education issued Standards of High School Ideological and Political Curriculum(experimental), which brought a new educational idea into high school ideological and political course. This article bases on the educational background, analyses the application of life situational teaching in politics curriculum from the perspective of teaching method, meanwhile put forwards its specific implementation approach. Life situational teaching is a kind of teaching method to build a bridge between teaching theory and students’ living. The article first summarizes the connotation and theoretical basis of life situational teaching. It is based on life education theory, constructive learning theory, situated cognition and learning theory. It is not only the necessary demand of new basic education curriculum reform, but also the inevitable requirement of quality education and teacher’s professional development. Then, it puts forward the specific ways of implementing the life situational teaching in high school political course according to its current actual situation in high school: the creation of life situations, situations induction to stimulate students’ desire to learn; adding life backgrounds, situational analysis to activate the classroom atmosphere; flexible adoption of life experience, sharing context to enliven textbooks; application of life experience, the situations returning to understand the value of knowledge.
