Adolescence is the vital period for athletes’special abilities to grow and form. In the meanwhile, it is also a rarely important chance for athletes to improve their own athletic ability and develop their good habit of training themselves in order to avoid shaping up malfunction as well as doing damage to the joints of their body. This, in turn, requires athletes to adopt the most scientific methods and means during the process of their usual training. Interval training, one of the major training methods and means which take the characteristics of sports training into full consideration, conforms to the mix of aerobic and anaerobic metabolism of energy supply. This kind of training method can develop the hybrid power capacity of the body metabolic and metabolism system. By training, it is effective for athletes for improve body’s glycolytic energy supply system and the non-lactic athletic ability, contributing a lot to developing body’s aerobic capacity. This kind of training is characterized by a small total amount of training and less time which facilitates the body to ensure the steady performance of their technical movements in the fierce competition and complex game environment. In this process, the body is strongly stimulated by the intensive heart rate, improving lactate tolerance and thus ensuring a lasting athletic ability under the condition of a much higher intensive exercise. Sprint is featured by fastness, short time and high-intensity, the major form of energy supply is original power and lactic acid phosphate. As a result, interval training exerts an important effect on the development of adolescents’sprint performance. According to a research, interval training is particularly widely adopted among the young. However, many problems still exit in practical application. This paper, starting its point from the current situation, attempts to further explore the problems and causes exiting in the interval training method among the adolescents and tends to provide some suggestions for its further development. This paper, adopting the method of using literature, questionnaires, field survey and other research methods, first does further research and analysis of the current situation of interval training used among the young. With the purpose of digging out the exiting problems, this paper tries to investigate and analyze the causes of these problems, and finally put forward some feasible and practical suggestions. By doing researches, this paper draws the following conclusion. First of all, there are still many problems exiting in the interval training method of adolescents’sprint training, which is embodied in the interval time, interval intensity and interval distance. Secondly, the coaches fails to master the rules of mental development of the young completely, and they can’t treat learners form person to person. Thirdly, there are many factors exerting an impact on interval training method of the young’s sprint training, including the educational background of the coach, motivations and cooperation of the athletes as well as the lack of training conditions and the restrict of competition system. Last but not the least, the misuse of interval training method is inclined to lead to speed barrier and premature phenomenon.
