Reform Program for Basic Curriculum(Trial), issued by the country, which has explicitly put forward:" Foster the students’ ability to collect and process information, the ability of acquiring new knowledge, analysis and problem solving ability and the ability of communication and cooperation." Thus, the reform of the new curriculum pay more attention to the cultivation of various ability for the students, and lay stress on the main body position of the students in the teaching activities. In recent years, as a new teaching pattern, PBL has attracted the attention of many scholars and educators, and gradually applied to ideological and political course in middle school. Along with the advancement of new curriculum, many teachers in educational teaching idea has changed, but in the concrete teaching practice, some political teachers still feel blankly that is unable to do what they hope, how to use PBL to optimize the political teaching, and to improve the students’learning efficiency? How to change the role and behavior between teachers and students in PBL? How to improve the PBL teaching evaluation? These are urgent problems needed to be resolved for general scholars and front-line teachers as well. This paper attempts to combine PBL teaching mode with ideological and political education in middle school, on the basis of theoretical research, to explore the application results of PBL teaching mode in ideological and political class, to reflect on the problems existed in teaching practice, and to draw inspiration from PBL teaching mode in ideological and political class.This paper is divided into four parts:the first part is introduction, mainly elaborates basis for the selected topic, research significance, research status at home and abroad, and puts forward the research idea, method, innovation points and deficiencies. The second part of PBL related concepts and theories, this section introduces the connotation and characteristics of PBL, and the meaning of PBL teaching mode. The second section mainly analyzed PBL teaching mode from the points of view of philosophy and psychology theory. Section 3 discusses the components of PBL teaching mode, taking ideological and political class for example, includes the basic target, teaching link, the roles between teachers and students, and teaching evaluation. The third part conducts value analysis from PBL teaching mode in ideological and political class and traditionally transfers from PBL to ideological and political lesson-accepts theory teaching mode and embodies the value of the PBL teaching mode in the premise, the teaching target, teaching link and implementing condition, teaching evaluation. Compared with the traditional teaching mode, PBL teaching mode helps to mobilize students’ learning interest, helps students learn to study, to improve students’ comprehensive thinking ability, and to promote the role conversion of teachers’traditional teaching. The fourth part is the focus of this article, on the basis of previous three parts, from the problem situation, subject knowledge learning atmosphere, students status, puts forward the strategy of PBL teaching mode in middle school thought political lesson and combines the teaching case--the government’s power:according to law, the concrete practice of the PBL teaching mode, to explore the application results of PBL teaching mode in the thought political lesson, to reflect on the problems existed in the teaching practice, to put forward the countermeasure and the suggestion, and to draw inspiration from PBL teaching practice.
