With the democratization of university management towards the direction of advance, student power has received extensive attention of administrators in universities and students, and student organizations is an important organization carrier to protect the students power. University classes as the administrative decision type of student organization and university students’ organization, plays an irreplaceable role in students’ autonomy and participation in school management, college education and management security. Based on the above reasons, this paper firstly reviews the types of positioning, organizational characteristics, evolution process and enlightenment, organization function and theory foundation. Then take N University as an example, through the interviews to survey the main problems during the development of the N school in the class and the causes of formation. Finally, aiming at the existing problems and puts forward some specific suggestions for improvement. In the actual process of interviews, the author aimed at the Youth League secretaries, instructors and students to carry out qualitative interview of 15 person times. The research contents and conclusions of this paper are as follows:1. University classes as the administrative decision type of student organization and university students’ organization; Compared with the primary and secondary classes, university class is more independent, compared with other students organizations, university class is more stable,-university class is the organization carrier of teaching and management; The functions of university class mainly manifests in two aspects:university education, management and the individual growth of students. From the development of class, we can see that collective class teaching system has a long history in the development of higher education in China, the organizational function is in the dynamic changes, the autonomous function of university classes is strongly restricted by political factors.Marx’s theory of "man’s subjectivity", Maslow’s theory of hierarchy of needs and Kataoka Tokushio’s theories of the collective and the reference group can be referenced to the base of the theory of class development.2. Through the interview, we can found the main problems existing in the development of class: first is the class committee team construction; second is the class activity problem; third is the class cohesion problem; fourth is the class rules and regulations question; fifth is the question of the role of counselors; sixth is the question of relationship between class and college party; seventh is the incentive problems of class development.3. In order to solve the problems, we can take some measures:improve class committee work, innovation in class activities, the establishment of a common vision to enhance cohesion, perfecting class rules, improvement of the work of instructors, properly handle the relationship with College party and government departments, enhance the diversity of incentive.4. University class must solve two important problems in the process of development:first is the self-government of the class, second is the problem of the attraction. These two problems are derived from the internal and external challenges of university class. Properly handle the relationship between university class autonomous and college party and government departments, strengthening class autonomy can fully reflect university class is the organizational carrier of students’ self education, self management, self serving, promote students to "vote with their hands", strengthening the attraction of university class can be avoided by class divided in public opinion and lead students to "vote with their feet". In order to promote better development of university class, we must solve the self-government of the class and attraction, and achieve the goal of by collective development as the reference group.
