Primary and secondary school textbooks is the main carrier of the national curriculum and curriculum standard,which is also the main resource for students to study.The study of readability directly concerns the degree of the textbook utilization and curriculum goal realization. What the main content of this article is the readability study on ideological and moral teaching material of grade seven.The first chapter of the paper gives the readability connotation of ideological and the moral book,which is on the basis of the student psychology,moral education curriculum theory,communication theory and linguistics.And then we get the readability connotation of the ideological and moral book,that includes:the theme of the materials can withstand scrutiny and it also has the inspired value;the materials of the book is fresh and interesting; the narrative way is flexible and diversified;the narrative order conform to the students’ cognitive logic,and the narrative language is lively and interesting.All in all,the whole chapter should be harmonious. To obtain the overall evaluation for the textbook is the main purpose of the survey,which should be lead on the questionnaires distributed,interviews and classroom observations.Then we can know the students’ interests and their reading blind spots,also we can know the problems for teachers while they are using the textbook. So we find the factors affecting the readability of the textbook.Finally,in the third chapter,we accord the survey result to give the useful suggestions for the teachers and the writers to improve the usage and compilation of ideological and moral book.
