A Qualitative Study On The Expectation Of The New Generation Migrant Workers 'Children' S Education

With the development of economy, generational change, the new generation of migrant workers is more and more familiar by people. Compared with the old generation of migrant workers, they have lived in the city for a long time, their minds like free bird and their cultural degree is higher. They have a good understanding of society and education, etc. Compared with the previous generation, the new generation of migrant workers, their attitude to education is clearer. There is a big difference between the old one and the new one in the concepts of education and the attitude to education. It is necessary for us to understand what the expectation of the new generation of migrant workers is. What makes them form such mind? Whether the education expectations are consistent to the education behavior? The present education whether can meet their expectations? What the family, society, school can do?Seeing from the existing research, most scholars define the parents’expectation of their children as the academic achievement and record of formal schooling, but the process of education expectation and the moral expectations of their children were not involved, which is the emphasis of this article. The paper divided the education expectation into two parts. The first is on the expectations of children to accept what kind of education, mainly including type of school, the teacher teaching, academic achievement, home school cooperation four aspects. Embody in the type of school expectations is the key school, the expectations of teachers teaching is wide in severe, the expectations of academic achievement is grow happily, the expectation of home school cooperation is various. The second is the expectations of revenues from the education on children, mainly including degree expectation, career expectation, moral expectation, life expectation, interpersonal relationship expectation five aspects. Embody in the degree expectation is pursuing highly to change destiny, the career expectation is easy, stable, high treatment in salary, the moral expectation is positive, good act, the interpersonal relationship expectation is help each other, the life expectation is independent.Researcher from the economic level and its position, interpersonal relation and compare in peer, survival competition and generation gap disappear three aspects analyzes the new generation of migrant workers why form such education expectation for their children. By contrast, found that the new generation of migrant workers education expectation and education behavior both consistency and inconsistency. Inconsistencies embody in the school type, academic achievement, home school cooperation three aspects, and consistency embody in moral quality and living ability two aspects. The differences between two aspects, the researcher from the education capital and its limitation, education expectation and without accompany, the education demand and limited rights three aspects analyze.The difference between educational expectation and educational behavior reflects the helpless of the new generation of migrant workers. The research proposed family, society, school three aspects in order to change the situation. In terms of family, improve the quality of the new generation migrant workers family education.
