From the new round of high school curriculum reform to date, Curriculum Teaching has entered into a relatively stable stage. When the compulsory courses are opened, various elective courses are set up at the same time, which provides students with a greater choice of courses and highlights the importance of individualized development of students. These become the biggest highlights of the high school curriculum reform. However, in the actual teaching process, a series of questions are derived. Further study and discussion are needed. As a result, the status of teaching implementation of elective courses needs a cause for concern.Jiangsu province has been one of the high school geography curriculum standard experiment provinces since 2005. Cities are constantly improving and strengthening the teaching reform of high school geography education. This paper surveys the status of teaching implementation of Yizheng high school geography teaching elective courses and teachers and students’ perceptions and attitudes towards geography elective courses and then analyzes the reasons of them, mainly including the dislocation of the teaching idea and practice of elective course, the utilitarian of the elective course teaching method, the teachers base of elective courses is still far from optimistic, the use and expansion of the materials are not enough, etc. With the problems found in the investigation, this paper tries to raise some countermeasure thinking about the status of teaching implementation in terms of teaching methods, evaluation methods, teacher resources, etc and puts it into practice, which Strives to explore effective mechanisms for high school geography teaching elective courses and provide a reference for the development of geography elective courses. |
