| Prose is one of the most important literary forms in the teaching of Chinese reading, andalso teaching key and difficult points of Chinese teaching. A lot of researches concentrated onthe prose teaching, but it cannot be denied that there are still problems and shortcomings in proseteaching. I believe that the neglect of stylistic features of prose is counts a lot. Both teaching andlearning of prose can not be conducted well without taking the awareness of stylistic featuresinto account, while we seldom pay much attention to the guidance of the awareness of literaryforms. Compared with other literary genres, such as fiction, poetry, drama, prose is more flexiblein the pattern of manifestation, more egotistical in the content, and more implications. Therefore,we must have a clear vision on the stylistic features of prose and a good grasp of teaching.should be in prose characteristic of the micro-macro-care analysis. In existing research.Afternumerous researches,many researchers have been taken notice of the stylistic features of prose,and specifically put forward teaching strategies. This paper is based on the inspiration of stylisticfeatures of prose, but pay more attention to the occasions where the readers being puzzled,whichis called “reading spaceâ€. In recent years, many researchers have combined the Westernreception theory with teaching and researching work of prose. The proposing of the conceptionof “reading space†in this paper, is a kind of a reference and flexibility use of Western receptiontheory under the circumstance of the prose teaching.As a dynamic process, reading teaching will be influenced by various factors. Meanwhilereading itself is a very personal activity, individual behavior in the reading process and thephenomenon of reading may impact on the teaching of reading activities. Western receptiontheory points out that there are "blank and uncertainty" in the text,"guiding" the readers readingactivities, which is the consideration from the perspective of the text itself. The dialogue betweenthe readers and the text is a not symmetric exchange, which caused the phenomenon of "readingblank". Thus the phenomenon of "reading blank" is the combined effect of the blank of the textitself, and factors of the readers. Students, who served both as the readers and the center ofteaching activities, should receive the attention of us. And its responsibility obligatory to us tohave an insight into the students behaviour during reading. specific to teaching situation in the,as readers of students is teaching activities concern of subject, so we also should station instudents of angle insight students in reading process in the of phenomenon and behavior. As a literary form with strong emotionally subjective color, and characterized by lyrical feeling, art,structural freedom and flexibility and other features, prose is the carrier of the authorsconsciousness and emotion. The author presses his subjective feelings by selecting a person or athing which meets the needs of its main lyric. Due to everyone’s experience emotional andaesthetic are unique, the other readers will be confronted with “reading blank" more or less whenthey are in the face of the text with strong subjective color. When it comes to prose teaching,students might be puzzled by the related object(no matter the scenery or the character) in the text,which is full of the authors personal style, due to students shortage of experience of reading life,knowledge structure, cognitive level, understanding capacity. So it is the teacher who shouldtake full account of this problem.This paper tries to place the concept "reading blank phenomenon" in prose teaching,discusses the possible reading blank phenomenon, basing on the practical teaching experienceand taking the specific features of prose. This paper explores the blanks and shortcomings of thestudents to which the teachers should pay attention, as a reflection and exploration of proseteaching, thinks the possible problem in prose teaching from the point of students, explores thespecific strategy to provide new thinking and direction for prose teaching from a new perspective.The first part of this paper explains and defines the concept "reading blank phenomenon". Thesecond part introduces the relation between the stylistic features and “reading blankâ€. The thirdpart discusses the methods and ways of prose teaching by combining reading blank phenomenonand teaching situation, analyses with the concrete case, in order to provide useful guidance. Andthe last part makes supplementary instruction to the advertent problems in prose teaching, andmakes the study more rigorous. |
