This paper carries out the research on the sports activities of six urban areas’ primary school in Chengdu province in big recess with the methods of questionnaire,investigation and expert interview, etc. The gym teachers in this school are regarded as the object of the research. The results show that:(1) Six urban areas of Chengdu primary school always with physical activities in big recess account for 77.8% and the school which sometimes carries out physical activities account for 22.2%. All the schools unify their sports activities in the big recess. As for the activity, The rate of recognition of the leader is above 90%. 98.6% of the physical teachers are willing to organize large recess sports activities, which plays a leading role in the implementation of the activity. 94.5% of the students participate in the activities of large recess sports.(2)The six urban areas of Chengdu primary school carry out the big recess sports activities in 35 ~ 45 minutes every times, the number of students weekly activities is 19.4% of the total, more than five times the big recess sports time is short, less not well meet the needs of the students sports activities in big recess;(3) The six urban areas of Chengdu primary school to carry out the big recess sports content is mostly traditional sports, organizational form too. Every school organizes students to do eye exercises or aerobics as the main content of big recess sports activities, other innovative content rarely be carried out; Big break organization form of sports activities is lack of innovation;(4)The 52.8% of schools in Chengdu have big recess sports target evaluation system, and the content of the sports activities in big recess, organization form and the result evaluation of comprehensive; There are 47.2% of the schools don’t have a big break sports target evaluation system, is not conducive to the big recess sports activities carried out;(5) The greatest impact factors hindering the development of Chengdu City primary school sports recess six city is the sports venues and equipment, each school site is small, the lack of sports equipment, every school is in a small area and lack of sports equipment; There is potential safety hazard in the process of large recess sports activities; The students’ pressure is overweight; The content of the big recess sports is boring and lack of appeal; The organization form of physical activity is too single; The big recess sports organizer lack professional knowledge training. According to the influencing factors of Primary School of Chengdu city in six districts in the process of developing the big break sports activities, to put forward the following suggestions:(1) The rational use of school sports venues, equipped with the appropriate sports equipment;(2) To improve teachers’ and students’ sports safety consciousness, improve safety measures, development form and content. To improve teachers’ and students’ safety awareness, prevention security risk; Ensure the big break sports activities in time;(3) To strengthen the system construction, guarantee the school sports recess time;(4) The form and content of carrying out innovation big break sports activities;(5)To increase the knowledge training for the big sports organizers.
