China and Japan are close neighbors; they have a cultural relationship from the ancient times. In the 21 century, with the rapid development of economy^ society and information, the practicality of English has drawn great attention of people in the international communication. China and Japan are well developed economies in Asia, both of the two countries are becoming more and more focus on the importance of English, especially at the stage of primary school education, the two countries are committed to improve quality. In order to improve China’s English curriculum standard, it has the very strong practical significance to make an analysis between the two countries.Based on the current primary school English curriculum standard of China and Japan, this research object, on the basis of the introduction of the two countries and the problems existing in the primary school present English education in both China and Japan. The research is from the following aspects:frame structure, curriculum goal, curriculum content, implementation advice, curriculum implementation and so on.According to the relevant research, there are some similarities between primary school English curriculum standards of the two countries:taking the student as the main body, cultivating the student’s interests as the center, this reflects the world trend of curriculum development; both pay great attention to open the new course, aiming at promoting the development of students; the similar background of Curriculum standard establishment; the course content includes the important t knowledge of English. There are also differences: different curriculum standard frame structures; the differences in curriculum arrangement, the curriculum objective and the capacity of the content text is different; different Content arrangements and suggestions; Japan’s implementation of the proposed is more flexible.Based on the above comparative analysis, to further improve China’s primary school English education the research puts forward some reference suggestions including:Strengthen the integration between English and other subjects to improve the cohesion between disciplines; penetrate the local culture to improve cultural consciousness; flexible teaching to mobilize the teachers participation; open learning content to create a atmosphere for learning English; take into account the regional difference to promote the effective implementation of the curriculum; establish a diversified evaluation mode to promote the students in learning English.
