The Tangshan’s bright culture, a school-based curriculum which was constructed by me as a main member has been implemented for six years in Tangshan junior middle school, Jiangning District. Based on the investigation and analysis of the development and implementation of the curriculum, the paper probes the strategies to improve the developing and teaching effect of the school-based curriculum, aims at perfecting its implementation, and enhances the students’ comprehensive qualities.The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter discussed the development value of the school-based curriculum from three aspects, i.e. the curriculum construction, the humanistic education, and the literacy, and discussed the teaching goal of the school-based curriculum from three aspects which are the understanding of local culture, the hometown feelings, and the practical ability cultivation in Chinese curriculum.The second chapter discussed the selection of the teaching material contents from the natural resources and human resources, then introduced the contents frame and the unit structure of the curriculum. The third chapter discussed the curriculum teaching idea, teaching methods, teaching evaluation and some teaching examples. The fourth chapter discussed how to understand the teachers’ and students’ reflection on the implementation of the school-based curriculum by means of questionnaire, so as to provide a basis for further improvement. At the same time based on the results of the investigation, this chapter analyzed and summarized the experience of many years’work.The last chapter, by improving the curriculum and its teaching methods, expounded the curriculum improvement strategies and discussed the teaching content and methods of each chapter one by one.
