Education curriculum reform in our country has implemented for many years, inquiry teaching as a new teaching way of new curriculum reform advocates, has attracted attention of more and more people. In some senior high school, the implementation of the inquiry-based teaching has made phased achievements. Shangluo area is located in the south of Qinling Mountains, with a amount of mountains and poor traffic conditions, economy is relatively backward. The senior high school in Shangluo area which the author in most biology teachers still use the traditional "teaching type", students’learning interest is low, consciousness of autonomous learning is poor, implementation of inquiry teaching in biological is worrying; The senior high school in Shangluo area rural has a difference in geographical environment with other rural, and the study of biology inquiry teaching in rural senior high school of Shangluo area is less. To solve these problems, the author investigated the situation of biology inquiry teaching in seven Shangluo area rural senior high schools, analyzed the restricting factors on the implementation of inquiry teaching in rural senior high school, put forward the corresponding suggestions and strategies.This research was carried out mainly from two aspects of teachers and students:On the one hand, through the method of interview and questionnaire, the practical situation of biology inquiry-based teaching was researched among teachers in rural senior high school.The questionnaire was carried out from many aspects:teachers’ basic situation, the concept and consciousness of inquiry teaching, high teaching methods and implementation status, construction situation of biological exploratory teaching soft environment, evaluation status of exploratory teaching, students’ learning status; Interview survey was aimed at teachers’ understanding of inquiry teaching, implementation, difficulties and teachers’ teaching pressure, etc.On the other hand, questionnaire was adapted to research the situation of inquiry learning among senior high school students in rural. Questionnaire was related to the students’ concept of inquiry learning, students’ learning situation, the school teaching situation, environment of inquiry learning, present situation of the evaluation, etc.From the study, we found that rural senior high school biology inquiry teaching in Shangluo area has many problems, as follows:1. Teachers’ understanding of biology inquiry teaching has deviation, some teachers even have conflict. Generally, traditional teaching idea lags behind.2. The teacher specialization level is low, is not competent for the inquiry teaching requirements.3. School library construction and other hardware facilities are backward, hindering the implementation of inquiry teaching.4. Evaluation mechanism does not conform to the requirements of the new curriculum standard, whether teachers or students are effort to get score.5. Because of the students’ basic deviation, poor study habits, students’ interest to explore is not thick.6. Inquiry teaching of "soft environment construction" is still very backward. Shangluo area of the society, schools, teachers, students are not enough to biological inquiry teaching support.To solve above problems, the author put forward the following strategies:1. To smoothly carry out exploration course, teachers and students are to change the ideas, to jointly explore consciousness.2. Improve teacher’s professional level, step by step, through the teaching problem analysis on rural schools by experts, to develop targeted and specific training activities.3. Countries continue to increase investment in education funding, the local government departments and schools to speed up the construction of curriculum resources.4. The correct view of the university entrance exam system, abandon the exam-oriented education vice, try to promote diversified evaluation.5. Make full use of rural living resources advantages, combined with the school situation mining extracurricular resources, create a good research environment.
