Mathematics inquiry learning helps students to experience the process of knowledge generation,helps to cultivate students' innovative ability and practical ability,helps to effectively implement the training goal of “strengthening moral education and cultivating people”,and helps students to form the essential character and key competencies that are suitable for their personal lifelong development and social development.Obviously,mathematics inquiry learning is the general trend of educational reform.However,currently mathematics inquiry learning does not develop very well.Therefore,how to carry out mathematics inquiry learning more effectively is worthy of our further study.This thesis investigates the status of mathematics inquiry learning in some high schools in Shenzhen using literature method,questionnaire survey method,interview method and case analysis method.The results show that both demonstration schools and ordinary schools have positive attitudes towards the necessity,usefulness and prospects of inquiry learning,but they have encountered many difficulties in the implementation process.The main reasons are as follows: firstly,the pressure of the college entrance examination leads to not enough time for inquiry learning;secondly,high school students have limited knowledge and ability;thirdly,the teachers' ability is limited;fourthly,the textbook and related materials are not suitable,and there are not proper subjects;fifthly,the inquiry learning evaluation system is not compatible with the current evaluation system.Based on the above findings,in order to improve the effectiveness of mathematics inquiry learning,four strategies for selecting subjects,organizing,guiding and evaluating are proposed.Through analyzing two cases,this paper demonstrates the effectiveness and feasibility of the strategies,and finally puts forward some proposals to the relevant education departments,schools,teaching and research groups and teachers.
