At the beginning of the 21st century, mainland of China and Hong Kong have carried out a curriculum reform. In this process, the two have used the new version of middle school history textbooks. Both have the same background, but there is a big difference in terms of educational philosophy, curriculum, history, society, thus we focus on curriculum reform after comparing the two places used by Chinese history textbooks. This paper introduces the textbook system, compared to write ideas and principles, textbook structure, especially the content of textbooks, covering ancient Chinese history, China’s modern history. This paper attempts from various angles to compare the two textbooks and more systematic discussion. I hope this can provide an idea of teaching, in order to promote the improvement of teaching level. More hope to help write history textbooks.Full text is divided into three parts:The first part is relatively textbook writing. The second part is the textbook structure comparison. The third part is relatively textbooks, is the focus of this article. Finally, this paper summarizes the two Chinese history textbooks advantages and characteristics, and made recommendations.
