In the long history of the human civilization, drama is always used as a way of teaching. Drama is not only a discipline of art, but also a discipline of tool. Drama can develop a student’s mental ability; it also affects a person’s character and self-development. So when drama is used as a way of cognition, it is used in all kinds of educations. Especially in the teaching of a language. In recent years, drama in teaching is used in the English immersion of kindergarten, which has brought a lot of concern from teachers and researchers. But the question is:how the drama in teaching is used in kindergarten’s English immersion? What is the current situation of the drama in teaching? Are there any problems that can be improved? These questions provided a lot of thinking for our country’s reform on bilingual education. It should capture our attention.This study used qualitative research method and on-site observation, interviews and other methods. I have interviewed 13 teachers and kept the dairy of observation for 5months. Based on the analysis and discussion of the case, I want to know the current situation of the drama in teaching, I want to find problems in the using of drama in teaching which applies in English immersion of kindergartens. This paper will provide some useful suggestions for education-related departments and teachers who are working in English immersion.This thesis is divided into five parts. In the first part, I introduced the reasons for the research, the purpose and significance of the research, the ideas and methods. In the second part, I defined some related key concepts and did a comprehensive review about the research of drama in teaching in kindergarten’s English immersion. In the third part, I introduced the concrete question and methods of studying. In the forth part, I described the current situation of drama in teaching in kindergarten’s English immersion, I found some problems. Finally, I put forward some suggestions for the usage of drama in English immersion of kindergarten.1. Value the worth of drama in teaching; 2.Set a clear goal for drama in teaching; 3. Enlarge the content of drama in teaching of kindergarten’s immersion.4. Use different methods of drama in teaching; 5. Promote the development of children by the coherence of family and kindergarten;6. Enrich the English teaching resources.7. Value the worth of English learning.
