The novel teaching is an important part of Chinese teaching in high school, is also lets the student obtain the organic carrier of literature aesthetic education and edification. However, teachers’ teaching method and students deeply, finally, the novel teaching into a student teacher downhearted, follow one’s own inclination in the embarrassing situation. The new curriculum standards clearly require students to "learn ideological, emotional and artistic nutrition from the excellent novel, rich, deepen the understanding of history, society and life, improve the literature". In the high school language teaching material in the various versions of the novels, the stories are accounted for an important proportion. These novels are masterpieces, good material quality and beauty, is to train the students’ language ability, but also an important way to shape students’ spiritual world and independent personality. Therefore, in the novel teaching, if teachers can grasp the direction of teaching reading, good method, can make the students benefit a lot. In this paper, based on previous research results, according to the new curriculum advocates the idea of reading, contact the actual situation of the current high school novel teaching, puts forward the subject of "the application of close reading in high school novel teaching, aims to explore an effective way of high school novel teaching.This paper is divided into six chapters:chapter one is an introduction, stated in a study the origin, meaning and related research;Second chapter focuses on teaching, teachers, teachers’current reading, students read several aspects of the current high school novel teaching problems and causes;Chapter III focuses on the theoretical basis of novels to read, new criticism to the aesthetics of reception, from the ancient traditional close reading to today’s theory of reading development, outlining the various read opinions on the basis of comments on the advantages and disadvantages of each, and pointed out that lessons and learning places; The fourth chapter separately from the text of the novel, the students’ reading, teachers and teaching effectiveness of the four aspects elaborated the necessity of reading teaching;The fifth chapter focuses on the conditions of teaching to read novels in high school, in principle, is based on the text, a health-oriented, overall principles of both knowledge and methods, details;Selected fiction texts for high school textbooks by the sixth, respectively, tips from a language to read, read, read the three aspects, combined with concrete case analyses the teaching of reading strategies, with a view to a restricted view, novel teaching on the current high school helps.In the author’s opinion, the famous high school textbooks in the novel, only by teachers in students self reading from the language details, characters, narrative skills, ideological connotation and other aspects of mining, integration, teaching, can make the language of the novel function, function of literature, aesthetic education function is fully released, and thus play a huge its role in promoting students’ appreciation of art, literary taste, cultivate healthy personality, should have. However, easier said than done, efforts to understand the novel teaching is one thing, really put the novel teaching implementation details, to reach the ideal teaching effect is another matter, it needs the joint efforts of experts and students, teachers and even the Chinese community.
