In recent years,"whole book reading and discussion" has attracted the attention of Chinese education researchers.However,there are still many difficulties in teaching practice.As far as teaching methods are concerned,they are still in the exploratory stage.Front-line teachers have made great efforts to this end,but due to the contradiction between reading time and reading effect,input is not proportional to output,and the whole book reading has not achieved good results.High school whole book reading based on excerpts can not only take care of reading teaching in class,but also can be extended.As a part of the whole book,the excerpts are closely related to each other.Can we start from the excerpts and read the whole book into practice? The academic circle lacks specialized research on this.The purpose of this study is to establish a teaching model of reading whole books in senior high school based on excerpts.From the perspective of bibliographic taxonomy,the selected novels in the unified Chinese textbooks for senior high schools are divided into two types: integral and anthology.The differences in reading time,reading thinking and reading methods between them are discussed.At the same time,relevant factors such as teaching hours and teaching objectives in actual teaching situations are considered.The teaching mode of "introduction exciting,intensive reading excerpt,thematic discussion and achievement display" is formed for the overall bibliography,and the teaching mode of "selection exciting,reading the whole book,reading other books and achievement display" is formed for the anthology bibliography.The teaching principles of dot and line,learning instead of teaching and paying attention to individuality are put forward.Through case analysis,the relevant teaching design of the whole book reading is analyzed and summarized,and the essence is absorbed.Then put forward the corresponding teaching strategies for the specific links in the teaching mode.For example,in the interesting link of reading guide,strategies such as setting questions skillfully,borrowing classic comments and using media resources are put forward.This model can help front-line Chinese teachers to more effectively promote the whole book reading,put it into practice,and then improve students’ reading quantity,promote the improvement of students’ reading ability.Taking David Copperfield and Frontier Town as examples,this paper designs teaching cases corresponding to teaching mode and teaching strategy,and strives to effectively implement the teaching mode of reading the whole book based on excerpts.
