A Comparative Study Of Synchronous Network Teaching Resources In Sino - American High School Biology Textbooks

A great growth has happened to the Internet those days, the dependency of people on it has increased. In fact, it has been a part of our studying, working and life. The traditional education resources cannot fulfill people’s need already. Digitized and networked resource has rapid appeared on the Internet. As a significant part of education resource, Internet provides courseware, videos and files to teachers and students. This paper, from both macro and micro aspects, compared with synchronous high school network teaching resources of China and USA, from which we can get some illuminating message.Four main parts are demonstrated in this paper:firstly, the reason why I choose this project, conceptions, the aim of this research, the background, current research progress and research methodology. Secondly, from macro aspect, this paper analyzed the home page of websites, information organization and the types of teaching resource. Thirdly, from micro aspect, it illustrated differences between courseware, experiment, video and examination resource. Fourthly, conclusion and enlightenment.These two Internet teaching resources have commons as follows:1) the main parts of two websites structure are similar; 2) their information organization both are classified; 3) four major parts are included in the websites, which are textbook aids, examinations, experiments and communication; 4) experiments resource are both including observation, searching and exploring.At the meantime, these two resources have their own features. The US one’s are as follows:its website has a simpler structure, and the more correct searching results; text with pictures, make it easier to understand, inspire students interests; learning online, using easily, communicating on time; humanized experiment design, respect life; within textbook but dose not limited to it, rich extend resource; it attaches importance to students thinking ability, decrease their burden on mind. As for Chinese biological textbook, it has multiple structures, rich hierarchies; huge number of test questions, and the front line teachers are involved; textbook is also close to the college entrance examination, and highlight to building of knowledge system.At the end of this paper, the writer comparative analyzed these two resources. Under the situation of keeping the features of Chinese teaching resource, absorb the feature that may fit Chinese website from the USA one, I am trying to make suggestions about building our teaching resources and teaching suggestion. First, in the high school biology synchronized internet teaching resources construction:1) upgrade the website, make the operation more humanized; 2) enrich researches, let students connect with life more than lab; 3) change their way to estimate, let them using those resource with a light heart; 4) increase the openness of the websites, broaden students horizon. Secondly, in terms of biology teaching and application of USA website internet teaching resource:1)actively to obtain the internet teaching resource to help students understand the biological significance; 2)teachers should consciously select suitable and excellent teaching resources of the internet.
