Nowadays, National music education as the important way of inheriting national music culture and strengthening the quality of students has been more and more emphasized by people. Spreading of such curriculum concepts as developing traditional music had been put forward in "Fulltime System Compulsory Education Music Course standard". This study will find the related issues about the present national music education through the questionnaire, interviewing method, literature analysis and comprehensive research method. In view of the current bottleneck problem in teaching, we will make the corresponding countermeasures from discussing and analyzing "thoughts "and "actions " these two aspects and also hope to carry out some idealistic advices about the implement of the national music education in secondary schools.The author found that the attitude of many middle school students towards Chinese national music is not positive now and the little effects of the implement of the national music education are obtained, from a survey of five junior high schools in xi’an. The main reasons for this problem are:1. lack of ideas and consciousness; 2. Teachers are lack of related skills in national music teaching; 3. the schools did not give much attention. To solve these problems, this paper will emphasize the importance of the national music education and the significant meaning to the middle school students, and put forward some suggestions for teachers’ teaching and school management. Effectively carry out the national music education will help to carry forward the national spirit, cultivate patriotic sentiment, enhance cultural awareness and national sense of responsibility and set up the correct attitude towards Chinese national music. Middle school is an important period of learning and growing, effectively carry out the national music education in this period will improve their knowledge structure, enlighten students moral emotion, improve students’ aesthetic consciousness, develop their national self-confidence and cultural identity. Through the investigation and analysis, the implement of national music education will mainly start at perfecting school level and students’ level these two perspectives.School level:1. encourage taking ethnic musical instruments into the classroom.The author think there are two ways:one is that teachers by effectively using national music instruments can assist the basic teaching; another way is that teachers should take spare time to teach and train Chinese national music instruments performance in the class.2. To offer greater opportunities to have relevant activities and teaching platform in the extracurricular practice. Schools can open national music related interest groups to supplement the teaching, and provide more activities related with the national music, increase contact between students and Chinese folk music.3. Create campus cultural environment influenced by the national music. Schools use bulletin boards and broadcast to develop national music cultural exchanges, and amplify ethnic folk to strengthen students’ better understanding.4. Pay attention to the implementation of the music curriculum standard and the improvement of teachers’ personal qualities. Schools need to establish mechanisms to encourage and support the development of teachers, and teachers shall seriously implement the music curriculum standards, carry forward the national music.Teachers’ level:1. Change ideas. Teachers should improve their national consciousness, set up the right attitude about the national music, that will more conducive to teachers’ cultivation of national consciousness.2. Optimize the teaching methods. The author summarizes three teaching methods:compare the experience type teaching, participatory experience teaching, show the practice teaching.3. Enhance the awareness of national music. Mainly divided into the national music culture knowledge, master the ethnic Musical Instruments, or folk songs, opera performance skills, and strengthen the national music subjective consciousness, suffer the noble mission of inheriting the Chinese national music culture.It needs efforts on every side to effectively carry forward the national music education in middle school. Study folk music is an effective way of inheriting Chinese national culture. The implement of the national music education is conductive to the students to foster the correct sense of cultural identities. Spreading and flouring national culture is every educator’s duty and mission; we need to take our responsibilities.
