The booming information technology nowadays has become an inevitable tendency and has been widely applied in our social life, especially in education, for the integration of information technology into various disciplines has become the major concern in recent academic research fields. Physics Illustrative Experiment (PIE), an effective way to cultivate students’ scientific inquiry and innovative spirit through experiment, plays an important role in the teaching and test of high school. Then how to utilize information technology to optimize PIE in middle school turns out to be a question worth thinking for the majority of physics scholars and teachers. Based on the principles of pedagogy and psychology, this paper starts from the current situation of PIE in middle school, and then explores the applications of modern information technology to PIE under the new curriculum reform. With the attempt to contribute to the PIE studies and provide references for middle school teachers, this paper finally assesses the feasibility and validity of the combination of PIE with information technology.The main research findings are as follows:1.Through the analysis of domestic and foreign literature,the relevant achievements of information technology in the application of physics demonstration experiment, and points out some problems of the application of information technology in our country physical demonstration experiment teaching.2. The relevant theoretical knowledge, like the specific concept demonstration, the current situation of this subject, the middle school students’psychology analysis, have been greatly enriched.3. The paper analyzes the current conditions of PIE teaching under the new curriculum concept, points out the existing problems in teaching, and puts forward some optimized and innovative methods for PIE teaching.4. Through the analysis of the current situation of information technology, the paper proposes the necessity of the combination of information technology with PIE, puts forth the problems that may occur, and suggests solutions in the combining process.5. According to the theory of physics demonstration experiment and information technology, the psychological characteristics of students as the basis, designed physics experiment teaching mode.6.With the teaching mode designed and the combining methods proposed, the paper implements the combination in the teaching practices through comparative method, the questionnaire method and classroom observation, and finally states the the feasibility and effectiveness of the applications of information technology to PIE.The implementation for the design of physics experiment teaching mode and teaching mode, the author is still in the exploration and research stage, so there will be some problems, the method is not perfect enough, expect the experts and teachers. So as to promote the improvement of teaching, demonstration experiment of Physics under the new curriculum idea.
