With the development of the society, all work of the state is becoming more complete, especially after the implementation of new curriculum reform, some front-line educators take changing the past teaching methods of exam-oriented education as the key point of the work study, for this purpose, some successful experiences in the international community have been brought into our country, it has provided powerful help for the development of educational cause in our country, the concept map has been born at the right moment with this circumstances.The concept map is the graphical representation for the concept of a subject and its relation, and it is a tool for organizing and characterizing knowledge, and also a positive and effective teaching method. From the viewing angle of a teacher, the concept map can help teachers to design reasonable teaching programme and efficiently construct knowledge structures of the teaching contents; however, as a student, the concept map can promote the transformation of students’ learning from rote learning to meaningful learning, and then promoting the meaning construction of students. With the learning method of the concept map construction, we can deal with all kinds of difficult problems in the learning process with ease, thus to achieve the effects of quickly accumulating basic knowledge.This paper makes researches and discussions from the aspects of the concept map research status at home and abroad, the basic classification and making of concept maps for senior high school geography, the theoretical basis of concept map-based teaching and the research value of the concept map in senior high school geography and so on by documentation method, interviewing method, questionnaire method and case analysis method and so on. Finally, the writer tries to discuss the application of the concept map in teaching by combining the knowledge structure of the senior high school geography.Concept map have a strict hierarchical structure, to the knowledge of Geographical, the concept map can make the knowledge structure, to promote the teachers make evaluation timely for students. The concept map is not widely used in the teaching practice, the teachers is not familiar with the meaning and usage. So we need encourage teachers to use the concept map and put it to the students. All for the students, in order to all students.
