With the deepened reform of the education system,more attention are paid to foster learner's initiative to participate actively and explore thoroughly.Accordingly,classroom teaching methods,evaluation of the students as well as learners' learning methods are experiencing a complete change and examination.Beset in the reform of the education curriculum,attempt teaching method consistent with high school students' physical and psychological development.It is of great significance to improve the efficiency of classroom teaching in that it raises learners' interest in geography,narrows the gaps within the class,and encourages learners to take initiative in learning and exploration.Thus it is of vital necessity to have a practical research on attempt teaching method.Education,psychology and philosophy related theories as well as the new geographical curriculum are used as the basis for the current research.The current study made a comparatively sound research on the teaching and learning status quo of geography teaching in high school,applying interview,questionnaire survey,and observation as well as other research methods in the studying process.At the same time,the necessity and feasibility of using attempt teaching method are discussed in the essay.In the end,some teaching principles,steps as well as attentions and strategies on using attempt teaching method were given out on the basis of the previous researches.The whole thesis was divided into six parts:The first part is introduction section.The related research background,the study status quo of the attempt teaching method both at home and aboard are discussed,at the same time,the research methodology and purpose of this essay are also included.The second chapter tries to define what attempt teaching method is,and draw a conclusion on the related theories and methodologies for the current research.Besides,the theoretical and practical significances of attempt teaching method are discussed.The third chapter introduced the theory basis of attempt teaching method,and the characters of the teaching materials as well as the characteristics of geography as a subject.O n the basis of these analyses,the necessity and feasibility of applying attempt teaching method in high school was put forward.The fourth chapter includes the application status quo of attempt teaching method in high school.By using questionnaire and interviews,some teaching and learning status quo of geography in high school was concluded;at the same time,some analysis about the problems in high school geography teaching were made on the basis of the questionnaire survey results.The fifth chapter introduced a practical research.The application procedure of attempt teaching method in high school was discussed based on a case teaching and the steps of applying the method.At the same time,the points that should receive attention while using attempt teaching method and the application strategy of using it were given.At last,the efficiency of using attempt teaching method were analyzed by combining one semester of practical teaching using attempt teaching method,students grades changes and behaviors changes.The sixth chapter drew a conclusion on the whole research.What's more,the shortcomings of the essay were also covered,with some aspirations for future studies.
