The New Concept of Geography was constructed from the existing geography conceptions.As the Senior High School Geography C urriculum Standards for New stated: “The full development and rational using of geography curriculum resources is very important to enriching geography curriculum and enhancing the vitality of geography teaching.” With the New Round Curriculum Reform going on,developing the Curriculum Resources with New Concept that closely related to the geography classroom teaching,and using case study simplify and crystallize geographical issues were conducive to helping students understand the geographical phenomena,processing the actual geographical problems in life,and implementing the C urriculum Concept of “Students learning the useful geographical knowledge of life”.In the meantime,carrying out teaching activities via combining the new concept of geography could broaden the knowledge of students,making students see the frontier of geography subject,letting the student realize the applicability and the existence of the geography and concentrate on subject learning,finally achieving the goal of academic improvement of geography.Sponge C ity Construction was evolved from the traditional city construction.Compared the traditional cities,Sponge C ity was a new urban ecological,economic and social sustainable development friendly conception.The paper took Sponge C ity as example,drawing forth the case of geography teaching in new concept.In this case,Sponge C ity was integrated into a variety of geographical teaching tasks for instance: Water C irculation,Rational Utilization of Water Resources,the Integrity of the Natural Geographical Environment,Urbanization,Sustainable Development,and the South-North Water Diversion etc,exploring the effectiveness of using the New Geography Concept in teaching.A research that based on the Teaching Reform,Geography Curriculum Standards for New,Learning Condition Theory and Education Psychology Theory had concluded that using the New Concept of C urriculum Resources in geography class was of great significance in promoting the geography learning and training the Geography Core Literacy of students.However,there had rare research both in domestic and on abroad.This article,therefore,not only defined the core concepts of New Geography Curriculum Resources and Sponge C ity,but also based that conducted an inner association study between Sponge C ity and geography text books(the edition published by the People's Education Publishing House).Then summarized the nouns of new concept that appeared on the Geography College Entrance Examination papers in recent years,and came to a brief analysis of these test papers.For test papers with Sponge C ity,in details.Besides,Sponge C ity was applied in the teaching design,a case that combined the Sponge C ity and sineror high school geography teaching got demonstrated.Still,some teaching advices to apply new concept resources in geography teaching had been presented.At the end chapter of this dissertation,the main conclusion was stated,also the problems of this research topic and an outlook for new concept teaching were given out.
