Along with the development of new course innovation, self-study has been one of the learning styles which are strongly promoted. Many teachers, as well as experts attach importance to the students’ ability of self-study. However, the research and practice are mainly carried out in basic education. As for the course in secondary vocational school, moral education in particular, the research is still in initial stage. This study is made under the guidance of the curriculum theory, pedagogy, educational psychology and some related theories on moral education in secondary vocational school. Based on the case study on the course of Political Economy and Society, investigation is made on the status of self-study. In this study, considering the characteristics and features of students and moral curriculum of secondary vocational school, some specific methods are proposed on the basis of analyzing the status of students’ self-study. The focus is on cooperative learning mode which emphasizes the key role of students. The aim of this study is to make discussion on the training of students’ self-study ability in the aspect of moral education in secondary vocational school. Moreover, it is expected to change the teaching notions and be helpful to the educational curriculum innovation. This paper consists of four parts:The introduction part is about the origin and concept definition. Besides, the former study, as well as the research method and innovation, is summed up.Chapter1 expounds the importance of the training of the self-study ability in terms of moral education in secondary vocational school. Brief introduction is also made to three innovations of moral education as well as the curriculum and teaching arrangement in secondary vocational school.Chapter2 investigates the students’ self-study ability to the course of Political Economy and Society and makes relevant analysis on it.Based on the investigation in Chapter2, Chapter3 proposes ways to train students’ self-study ability to course of Political Economy and Society.
