In the 21 st century, China has increasingly paid so much attention to education that building a powerful teachers group has become the top priority for educational development in all regions. Therefore, teacher training is of great practical significance and its effect has been valued by the whole society and government departments at all levels. With the development and progress of science and technology, the concepts and modes of teacher training have changed continuously. As a new training mode, remote training has obtained a certain development in areas of the whole nation, gradually replaced the traditional face-to-face training mode and become the main mode of teacher training in our country. However, its actual training effect, compared with that of the traditional teacher training mode, remains to be further explored.This thesis takes the national training plan as an opportunity and devotes to study the effectiveness of primary school English teachers’ remote training in S city, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. This study has done questionnaire survey and interview for 79 respondents, in which 76 valid questionnaire responses have received and have been regarded as final samples. By the use of the software SPSS to analyze the questionnaire data, the consequence shows that the primary school English teachers’ remote training in this region achieved relatively high effectiveness in general knowledge module comparing with the relatively low effectiveness in teaching skills module. What’s more, teachers attending this training are unsatisfied with all aspects of this training. Therefore, the overall effect of this training is bad and unsatisfactory. By discussing the actual effect of primary school English teachers’ remote training in this region, further analyzing reasons for inefficiency of this remote training as well as putting forward the corresponding strategies, the thesis aims to provide reference for teachers’ remote training in this region, and promote the development of the local teacher training and remote training so as to make teachers’ remote training truly cultivate teachers who are in accordance with the development of new era and the requirements of new curriculum reform.
