Along with the expansion and deepening of the national curriculum reform, history curriculum in high school also changed accordingly, especially on the arrangement of the content, changing from the same textbook into a form of “unified standards, verified textbooks”.The book Cultural Development from Yuelu press version consists of six units, among which literature and art history accounts for two units. Like intellectual history and the history of science and technology, the status of literature and art history increased obviously than that before the reform.The national curriculum reform advocates student-centered classroom teaching style,focusing on cultivating the students active participation in class and their loving of exploration.It aims to enable the students to acquire knowledge, analyze and solve problems. Literature and art history is rich in content, which is a unique advantage in realizing the goal of the national curriculum reform. Therefore it is meaningful to study the teaching design within the literature and art history part. This paper attempts to probe into the teaching design by taking an example of the 18 thlesson “Music and Art” of the book Cultural Development from Yuelu press versionThis paper contains five chapters:Chapter Ⅰ : Introduction. This chapter first illustrates the purpose and meaning of this paper and then analyzes the status quo of the study on teaching design within literature and art history. Combined with personal theoretical knowledge and practice, the study method and process are identified.ChapterⅡ: Definition of concepts. Starting from the aspects of the basic connotation and content as well as the rationale, this chapter comprehensively analyzes the questions of “What is teaching design?” and “How to make an excellent teaching design?” laying a solid foundation for this paper.Chapter Ⅲ : The requirements of teaching design within literature and art history. It mainly explains the requirements from the angles of teaching objectives, teaching strategies and teaching assessments, paving the way for further study.Chapter Ⅳ: The teaching design of “Music and Art”. Based on the requirements of thenational curriculum and paying attention to the development of the students, this chapter analyzes the situation of the students, the teaching objectives and the teaching procedures so on and so forth. It also gives a detailed explanation of the purpose of each teaching step.Chapter Ⅴ: Tips for teaching design within literature and art history. Combined with the teaching practice, this chapter puts forwards some tips that need paying attention to in the teaching design. Firstly, correctly understand and grasp the idea of the national curriculum;make scientific teaching objectives. Secondly, based on the need of teaching, integrate all kinds of teaching materials and content from different versions of textbooks. Thirdly, improve the efficiency of class and regard the students as the center of the class aiming at enhancing their learning abilities. At last, as long as the teachers improve their professional and comprehensive abilities, can the level of the teaching design can be improved.
