China is a country with a long history of poetry. Poetry can inspire people’s wisdom and cultivate people’s sentiments. However, in the process of teaching and learning, we ignored the status of ancient poetry. It confined perusal recite, content with superficial understanding, so they can not feel the beauty of poetry. The quality of instructional design is the premise and guarantee of the effective teaching of ancient poetry. It plays a key role in the efficient ancient poetry class. It can enable students to obtain the feeling of beauty and the ability to appreciate beauty in the classroom. From the view of teaching, I use the methods of case study, to study the practice of instructional design of the poem, "thoughts from the book", to write the teaching design, and put into practice, and then continue to modify and improve the teaching design. This paper consists of five parts:The first part is the introduction part, which explains the significance and research methods, research value, and introduces the research status of instructional design and the research status of ancient poetry teaching.The second part is the summarization of this paper, and the definations the basic concepts: poetry, poetry teaching, instructional design of poetry. It describes the process of ancient poetry instructional design, analysis the poetry and students’ situation, designs the teaching goal, designs the teaching content, designs the teaching methods, designs the process of teaching, and designs how to evaluate.The third part tells the details of the preparation work of the ancient poetry instructional design, the process of how to design it, and how to write the teaching steps.The fourth part shows the teaching scheme, and introduces the practice of teaching and learning, the application and problems of the instruction in practical. At last, instructor reflects and summarizes the poetry instructional design.The fifth part is the conclusion of this paper, analyzes the difficulties about the ancient poetry instructional design, and provides new idea for the instructional design of ancient poetry teaching.
