As the rapid development of the science technology as well as the constant deepening of the economic structure, the society has already been at the age of intelligence and knowledge. As a result, the knowledge and ability has become the base of human’s living. Without doubt, in order to realize the learning society, it is necessary to be guaranteed by the developed and excellent education system. In that way, how to improve the quality of education became the significant research subject of the education system perfection. However, to a certain extent, the assurance of the education depends on the standard of the teachers’ quality. The high standard of the teachers’ quality is the key issue to the promotion and assurance of the higher education quality. To form and construct the high standard teachers’ staff, the teachers’ turnover is the significant way and pattern. As the rapid development of higher education in our country, the teachers’ turnover of universities and colleges became the focus topic, as well as the hot issues focused by the society.Currently some of the domestic and international research confined by the study concerning one country, the field of investigation is relatively narrow, and less comparative. Therefore, this thesis mainly starts with the Sino-US comparison of university teachers’ turnover system, and then it introduces the current situation of domestic universities teachers’ turnover, and analyzes the problems and reasons of the teachers’ turnover through the comparison. By means of the comparison to the US university teachers’ turnover system, the thesis demonstrates the reasons of the differences in university teachers’ turnover which existed between two countries. At the same time, through the reference of reasonable aspects in the university teachers’ turnover in US, it offers some advice of reform measures for our country in the future.There are six chapters in this thesis. In the part of Introduction, it presents the reasons and meanings of the selected topic, the definition of relevant concepts, the current domestic and international study situation as well as the research plan of this thesis. In Chapter One, it mainly introduces five theories. They are the Human Capital Theory, the Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, the Field Theory of K.Lewin, the Organization Life Theory of Karz and the Social Mobility Theory. The analysis and arrangement of the five theories provide the theoretical basis for the study of teachers’ turnover. In Chapter Two, by means of the investigation and the analysis of the current situation in the university teachers’ turnover in our country, it presents thehistory process, the current situation and the existed problems of university teachers’ turnover in our country. As for the existed problems, it mainly states in four aspects:the disordering of the teachers’ turnover, the imbalance of talents flow, the inhibited channels of flow, the faultiness of part-time job system and the confined range of flow.In Chapter Three, it illustrates the history process of university teachers’ turnover system in the US, the current university teachers’ turnover system in the US and the existed problems of the university teachers’ turnover in the US. Through the study of the university teachers’ turnover in the US, it formed the comparison to the system in our country, which leads to the following part of this thesis. In Chapter Four, it concludes the reasons that though there are similar teachers’ turnover system in China and the US, the implement effects are distinctive. The conclusion may promote the reasonable and orderly flow of the university teachers’ turnover in our country. In Chapter Five, aimed to the current situation of the university teachers’ turnover in our country, it offers some advice from three aspects: the government, the universities and colleges, and the teachers.
