China is very proud of Badminton. Not only professional athlete can gain lots of prides for their countries, but also ordinary people can harvest a lot in the sport by playing badminton. The physical of college students’ is generally low in our country, lots of college students have overweight or underweight problems. badminton is easy to learn, but not easily affected by the weather. It can do good to our physical fitness, also can release pressure, making friends, and so on. Physical Elective Courses in Universities, the largest number of female students choose badminton lesson. The purpose of this study was to investigate female students after a period of exercise badminton, their physique, body composition and body esteem positive change has occurred in three areas for female students to participate in badminton exercise provide a theoretical basis.The study, literature, experiment, mathematical statistics and questionnaires, with Shanghai Normal University 62 female college students for the study, its 12-week(twice a week) experimental intervention. The main measure before and after physical exercise, body composition and body esteem indicators, data collected by paired sample T test was used for comparison and analysis.12-week badminton physical exercise changes the subject as follows: the subject’s height(cm) and weight(kg) before and after exercise(p> 0.05) does not have a signif icant difference; vital capacity(ml), step index, grip strength(N), standing on one foot with eyes closed(s), time(s) selected reaction, sit and Reach(cm), vertical jump(cm) and one minute sit-ups(times) before and after the eight indicators of exercise(p <0.01) has a very significant difference. In addition, the subject of the National Physique overall index score increased from the first week of 29.65 ± 3.36 for the first 14 weeks of 32.61 ± 3.66,(p <0.01) with a very significant difference.12-week exercise badminton subject to change body composition is as follows: fat mass(kg), body fat percentage(%), subcutaneous fat content(kg), muscle mass(kg), fat free mass(kg) and the base this metabolic five indicators before and after exercise(p <0.01) with a very significant difference; subjects BMI(kg / m2) and waist-hip ratio before and after exercise(p <0.05) with a significant difference. In addition, the subject’s body composition score increased from the first week of 71.33 ± 4.95 for the first 14 weeks of 73.73 ± 6.12,(p <0.01) with a very significant difference.12-week badminton exercise on the subject’s body esteem changed as follows: physical self-worth and sense of physical attractiveness subject scores before and after exercise(p <0.05) with a significant difference; athletic ability, physical condition and fitness this score three indicators before and after exercise(p <0.01) with a very significant difference.The results show that: badminton exercise improves physical health of female university students for their living and learning provides a good health guarantee. Students maid badminton exercise body composition toward the ideal ratio improved, thus effectively preventing the risk of obesity and other diseases, from outside to inside the body it is more healthy. Badminton training can improve the body’s self-esteem of female students has a positive impact, which will help them establish a positive quality, help them better cope with life’s problems learning, conducive to the pursuit of their lofty ideals, conducive to long-term exercise habits they develop, establish a sense of lifelong Sports.
