Constructivism is one of the most influential theories of the education of physics.Its core thought is: learning is not a passive process of receiving knowledge, but an active process of construction which is based on one’s own knowledge and experience.The ideology of constructivism not only involves philosophical standpoint, such as epistemology and technology in education, but also relates closely to teaching practice.Constructivism provides a necessary theory framework from a wider aspect for us to do intensive research on the teaching of physics. This thesis focuses on how to teach physical laws in the light of constructivism.The first part of the thesis comments on new requirements on physical teaching、current situation of physics teaching and introduces the most basic understanding about the rise of constructivism and points out that law teaching is the core of teaching physics. The second part introduces the theory of constructivism. Firstly, it introduces briefly the origin and the development of constructivism, then it relates the classification of constructivism and the learning theory of construction in details.Finally, it reviews constructivism from epistemology to learning theory, indicating that constructivism has become the theoretical basis of innovating traditional instruction. In the third part, the thesis focuses on the theory of physics teaching,discusses teaching requirements of physical laws in Middle Schools、the constructive essence of physics laws and teaching methods of physical laws teaching. In the following forth part mainly discusses the current situation of physical laws teaching and the deficiency of the traditional teaching of physical laws. The fifth chapter focuses on practical study, firstly analyzed two classes’ test results, of which only one class will be taught with the idea of constructivism, after a period of teaching practice,then analyze the test results of the two classes again, the result of the experimental class is significantly improved. Through these demonstration researches and teaching practices, the usefulness of constructivism has been proved, which also offers a new view for our physical laws teaching.
